The upper tier has a metal safety rail to prevent falls during sleep. Metal parts are made of 60x10x1.5 mm rectangular tube and 32x1.2 mm, 25x1.2 mm and 16x1.2 mm round tubes, with a protective and decorative powder coating. The side ends are bolted to the bed bases through holes; the rail and ladder are fixed to the bases with connector bolts. Plastic end caps on the frame protect the floor from damage.
